A native to southeastern Ohio, Fr. Steve attended Berne Union and William V. Fisher Catholic High School before studying Philosophy at Pontifical College Josephinum (1979). He then went on to earn a Masters of Divinity, Theology, from Mount St. Mary's Seminary (1983).

Since completing his studies, Fr. Krile returned to Ohio and has been an Associate Pastor for St. Fancis de Sales Catholic Church (1983-87), St. Matthias Catholic Church (1987-89), and St. Pius X Catholic Church (1989-93); a Pastor for St.s Peter & Paul Catholic Church (1993-99), St. Joseph Catholic Church (1999-2011); and a Former Pastor for the Catholic Community of Holmes County (2011-July, 2018) before joining St. John Catholic Church as the pastor.
